Spring is in full swing and the end of the school year just around the corner.
Action is hot on our two main projects. Epic our new voyaging boat is entering it’s final phase: sails, rigging, oars and hull all entering the last stages of construction.
Fellowship, our 1945 Monomoy rebuild is scheduled for a June launch. Fueled by a grant from the Russell Family Foundation it is getting fitted out as a “Green Boat”. This means cutting edge no-emissions propane outboard, non-toxic Epaint bottom paint, and an efficient/renewable electrical system. Planning has begun for her summer trip down the Sound.
The spring weather came early and is wonderful for the weekly on-the-water programs. Both the Voyagers and Sailor Scientists are planning their spring Journeys.
